About Sotiris Konstantinidis
He holds a BSc in Computer Science from Technological Institute of Athens, Greece and MSc in Bioinformatics from Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. Sotiris has more than 15 years of experience on the design and development of Big Data solutions in the context of EC-funded and commercial projects. He has participated in more than fifteen (15) R&D Projects funded by the European Commission, as a developer and system designer.
Sotiris founded SCiO in 2019, leading all technical work in the areas of Bioinformatics, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Management. One of SCiO’s key achievements is their work for the Big Data Platform of CGIAR, a large-scale initiative to unlock important research publications and data sets about food security, nutrition, and natural resources. This work was recently recognized by Elastic Search under the 2020 Cause Awards category. Sotiris has also led SCiO to the top-5 finalists of the 2020 Syngenta Crop Challenge in Analytics, a prestigious worldwide competition that sought analytical approaches to improve complex crop breeding processes.
